EngageMedia, in partnership with the Southeast Asia Freedom of Expression Network (SAFENet), held a two-day digital rights forum in Jakarta, Indonesia to discuss key issues in the country’s digital rights landscape.

The event is part of the four digital rights country forums held throughout 2022, leading up to the three-day Asia-Pacific Digital Rights Forum to be held in January 2023 and the Asia-Pacific Digital Rights Festival in May 2023.
The forum discusses crucial digital rights issues, such as:
- Implementation of laws related to the digital space (PDP Law, ITE Law)
- Online gender-based violence (KBGO)
- Youth and social media activism
- Education on the use of digital technology
- Dis/misinformation and the role of political influencers/buzzers
- Unlawful digital search and seizure
- Internet censorship monitoring (iMAP) and information control
